NOVEL ANTIMICROBIAL PEPTIDES FROM BOVINE NEUTROPHILS OF Bovine neutrophil

The present invention provides pulley peptides useful as antimicrobial agents. Thirteen kinds of peptides were purified from the granule-rich microbial fungus of small neutrophils and their characteristics were studied. These molecules have broad antibacterial activity even at concentrations as low as 0.5 m / ml. Common features of the peptides include cationicity, the presence of several cysteine residues, and the like. These peptides are useful as antimicrobial compounds in human medicine or veterinary medicine, or as antimicrobial agents for agriculture, food science, or industry.
