FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method includes taking of samples from reactor of starting mixture of reagents: ammonia-oxygen containing gas and nitroso gases, weighing of samples, chemisorption of initial mixture of reagents and nitroso gases correspondingly in measured initial quantities of aqueous solution of sulfuric acid and neutral aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide used for titration of excess of solution of sulfuric acid left after chemisorption of sample of initial mixture of reagents and for titration of nitric acid formed after completion of chemisorption of nitroso gases and determination of degree of oxidation of ammonia. Proportion of masses of aqueous solutions of sodium hydroxide and sulfuric acid is found in advance in separate vessel by way of mutual titration of these solutions. Then initial amount of solution of sulfuric acid is determined by weighing as well as of solutions of sodium hydroxide used for titration of excess of solution of sulfuric acid and nitric acid. Degree of ammonia oxidation is found by formula given in description of invention. EFFECT: enhanced precision of method. 1 tbl
