The claimed process comprises esterifying phosphoric and sulfurous acid chlorides with fatty alcohols and hydrolizing the resulting monoalkyl chloroesters with water to obtain the desired products. The claimed process uses thionyl chloride production waste as phosphorus and sulfur containing raw material and C₁₀-C₁₆-fatty alcohols. Esterification is carried out at 30-80 C and phosphorus oxychloride to alcohol molar ratio of 1:(1.1-1.4).
