FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: one-year seedling coniferous needles grown in nursery were analyzed. α-Pinene quantitative content in essential oil is determined by peroxidase activity rate development that is at directly proportional dependence of its content. Seedlings with maximal a-pinene content were used for plantation laying. Method is used for early diagnosis of highly productive pine plants for a-pinene content.
