FIELD: metal working, in particular, working of parts such as sprockets and hubs. SUBSTANCE: method involves locating toothed part 1 in parallel with tool 2; making axial channels 3 and ridges 4 in tool 2 to create toothed surface adapted to be introduced into engagement with toothed surface of part to be worked; driving one member of toothed pair, part or tool, into rotation. Members of toothed pair while rotating one with respect to the other provide multiple contact between toothed surfaces to facilitate deburring and rounding off acute edges of toothed parts. Working tool may be made in the form of needle-type cutter with toothed surface on its generatrix. EFFECT: increased efficiency, wider operational capabilities and improved quality of worked parts. 1 dwg
