FIELD: medicine; clinical biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves sampling and dividing the sample in two (experimental and reference parts), adding sodium nitrate to the experimental part, incubation, adding chemical reagents to both parts of the sample, and assaying the sample parts for nitrite using a calibrating curve for comparison of the characteristics of the experimental and reference parts of the sample. The chemical reagents are crystalline sodium thiosulfate, iron sulfate, and sodium ascorbate. The reaction mixtures are frozen in liquid nitrogen. EFFECT: higher accuracy and shorter assaying time.
