Lease-plasminogen which is obtainable by means of proteolytic splitting glu-plasminogen is observed to have the property to protect tissue damaged in ischemic state. Lease-plasminogen administration is usable for treating patients both during reperfusion and later, after it has already taken place. Lease-plasminogen is also usable in combination with thrombus destruction therapy methods like those where plasminogen tissue activator is applicable and others.
