The optical component possesses a small, flat, image-producing display screen (9) for presenting the visible signs, measured at different angles to the optical axis (29). There is a computer for controlling the screen and the optical imaging system (27, 28) is in front of the screen. The patient observes the display screen through the corresponding ocular (28) and the appropriate field lens (27). These elements can be adjusted manually or electrically to compensate for the refraction anomalies of the patient's eyes. The display can be illuminated by the lights (14) and the diffusor (22).
