The device comprises a hollow body with numerous individual holes in the vertical wall and in the upright useful position set above a collecting container (7) which has an outlet opening matching the size of the pest. The hollow body has an opening (11). A substance causing delayed death of the pests is arranged between this opening and the outlet opening of the collecting container so that the pest automatically comes into contact with this toxic substance on its way to the outlet. A container (15) can be fitted on the collecting container over at least a passage (14) matching the size of the pest so that the substance can be placed inside this container (15) between the passage (14) and an outlet. The toxic container can be an integral part of or detachably fitted on the collecting container.
