LV spotlamp with halogen bulb e.g. for hotels and tourist resorts

A low voltage light has a housing with a halogen bulb, reflector and a transparent cover plate. The mains voltage is stepped down by a transformer within the housing to provide the necessary lamp voltage. The transformer has different primary side tappings which are used in case of local variations in mains voltage. The transformer has a ring core and is sited within the housing behind the reflector, coaxially with the radiation axis. There is alternatively an electronic unit for voltage reduction. The reflector is detachable from the housing. The housing has a metal stay which tensions it and also acts as a socket for the bulb, serving as a heat sink.
