Instrument set for artificial insemination of elephants

The instrument set has a dilator catheter (1) with a dilator balloon (4) located at the forward end which has a recess arranged concentrically to the outlet opening (12) of the catheter. At the rear end of the catheter is a chamber for the introduction of an endoscope, guide tube, insemination catheter and guide wire. An inlet (10) is used to inflate the balloon and a further inlet (11) is used for introducing gas direct into the catheter. The dimensions of all the constituent parts of the set are such that they all match each other. The guide wire is made from metal coated with a polyethylfluoride coating and can have a spring loaded ball at the end which helps to position the instruments in the genital tract.
