Connecting members (21) join the side frame (1) and side bearers (19) on the right- and left-hand side of the front area of the interior of the motor vehicle. Both end areas of the transverse suspension components (27) are connected by frame connecting regions which are provided on the side frames, the side bearers or the connecting members. The connection points of these areas to the transverse suspension components are located laterally outside the longitudinal centre line of the side cross-section of the frame. Alternately they may be located laterally inside the longitudinal centre line of the cross-section of the side bearer.
