The slicer unit (24) guides a loaf of bread (44) through it by a pusher (70). The housing (53) has slots in according to the thickness and arrangement of the blades (26) and containing a slotted body (56) which can be impregnated with oil. The housing is detachably connected to the slicer unit containing the blades. An adjustment (46) is displaced as the loaf passes through the slicer unit so that the housing and oil-impregnatable body are guided past the blades' surfaces. The housing contains an oil pipe (60) along which are outlets (58). The housing is detachably fixed to the two opposite facing sides of the bread slicer machine (10).
