Visual function tester with binocular vision testing

The visual function tester with binocular vision testing includes a video display monitor with microprocessor control. A bit mapped graphics memory displays a wide variety of visual images. A set of optical shutters associated with stereo vision glasses and a glass driver circuitry controls the synchronisation of the shutters in response to control signals received from the microprocessor module. The shutter action is synchronised with the display of the visual targets such that some images are visible only to a patient's left eye. Some images are visible only to the patient's right eye, and some images are made visible to both of the patient's eyes. Several vision tests can be performed such as stereopsis, phoria, aniseikonia and fixation disparity with a variety of acuity targets.
