Inserting galvanic metals or alloys into glass or glass ceramic bodies and for structuring metals with glass or glass ceramics comprises: (a) applying a metal layer as substrate, pref. a metal foil, onto the glass or glass ceramic body for cathodic contact; and (b) filling holes in the body with metals or alloys at the cathodic contacting base surface. Holes of different size are filled with metal. The material cpd. is a glass metal having a free etched microstructure of the glass and after tempering can be reinforced with diffusion. The substrate is removed after galvanic treatment. The boundary surface is etched away between the material and the body. ADVANTAGE - Multiple structuring is possible.
