A process for the preparation of a wax candle construction

Prodn. of wax candles comprises preheating a 'middle wall' to 32-43 deg.C and rolling it around a wick under compression from the outside towards the wick. N.B., middle wall is a bee-keeping term for a wax plate inserted in a hive to form a base for honeycomb construction. Pref. the middle wall is preheated to 35-41 (esp. 36-40) deg.C. ADVANTAGE - Compression reduces the depth of the honeycomb indentations on the surface of the candle without completely levelling them. This reduces the dust-collecting tendency of the candles and improves their burning characteristics without impairing their appearance as natural prods..
