Sensor system for surveying shape and volume of otherwise inaccessible underground cavities and caverns

The sensor system includes an inclination sensor (3), a swivel joint (4) and a controllable swivel drive (5) are connected to the sensor carrier (1) across a rigid coupling. An orienting system (6,7) is rigidly coupled for the azimuthal monitoring of the alignment of the sensors. A sensor measuring head is connected to a controlled rotational drive (10) rigidly connected across a pressure seal and a drive shaft (8). The remaining sensors and electronic system are connected. The inclination sensor is rigidly connected and aligned with the sensor carrier, and facilitates an assignment of the measuring data for each measurement direction.
