The container, esp. a vehicle glove box compartment, a coin box, or an ashtray, is novel in having an integral, resilient, sound reducing lining. It is made by a two-component pressure injection moulding process, which is outstandingly cost effective. The body (12) is a conventional plastic, and at least where the container (10) touches its contents, there is a coating (20) of an injected, rubber-like material. Also claimed is the use of thermoplastic-, elastomer or polyurethane in containers made as described, as a protective coating and/or as a noise damping material.
