Computerised recording system for sports contestants' time results

The time recording system includes an active or passive transponder which is fitted to each competitor, and which stores a particular code for that competitor. This code is transmitted via an antenna to a computer at a recording station, e.g. at the start, the end or at intermediate recording stations during the race. Each competitor passes through an antenna system send/receive zone at each recording station, which automatically triggers a read out of the competitor's code and competition time. The competitor's time at each recording station is logged by means of a photo electric beam.
