A series of work stations are driven around an oval-shaped route on an endless chain (1). Within the oval is a rail (11) with a travelling cradle (10) that can slide back and forth plus trailing conductors (7) joined to a fixed point (8) for power supply and signal transmission. The supply to the work stations is via cabling (4) moving synchronously with the chain and feeders (5). At the ends of the rail, the cradle can rotate by 180 degrees. This is done by a fork (12).
