Method of detecting and evaluating work data or travel data

The figure shows a Bedes adapter (1) for taking the work data memory (2) and the driver identification unit (3). There are a number of steps in the method. First, the ignition process is blocked, but this is released when the work data memory and the identification unit are inserted, the latter first. When the identification is positive with a valid password from the driver, the memory and the unit are locked against removal from vehicle as long as the ignition is on. The work data, with date, time, vehicle identity and driver identity data, are recorded and stored. The above steps, in reverse order, are carried when ignition is switched off.
