PURPOSE:To obtain an adsorbent having high adsorption efficiency and small permeation resistance by dipping a honeycomb layered body of specified properties in a water glass soln., and then dipping in acid so that active silica gel of specified pore diameter is coupled with the inorg. fiber paper in the layered body. CONSTITUTION:A honeycomb layered body used is formed by winding and laminating wavy paper body having waves on one surface with 2.5-45 mm wavelength and 1.3-2.5mm wave height, and this paper body consists of an inorg. fiber paper of 0. 3-0. 6 apparent density, 30-180g/m2 basis weight and 0. 1-0. 3 mm thickness. This layered body is impregnated with a water glass soln., dried, and then dipped in acid.
