The cable laying system allows a cable (5) to be inserted in a protective cable sleeve (1), using a pressurised flow medium, fed to a cable insertion housing (3), sealed to the end of the cable sleeve (1). The cable insertion housing (3) has a cable feed gland (4) at the rear, the cable (5) being attached to a piston (16) which is displaced along the cable sleeve (1) by the pressurised flow medium. The cable insertion housing (3), the cable feed gland (4) and the piston (16) each allow a cable already placed in the cable sleeve (1) to be accommodated. ADVANTAGE - Allows insertion of new cable without removal of existing cables.
