Deployable barrier device making it possible to produce a temporary blockage on a road or motorway lane with a view to diverting traffic. It includes supports (1) which are stable on the ground and can be fitted together horizontally in pairs and threaded on at least one windable cable (2) on which a panel (3), folded concertina-fashion, is threaded between two consecutive supports (1), the ends of which panel are each solidly attached to one of the said supports (1).
