Guide rail for coaches or buses mounted in U=shaped metal section at same level as road surface

The guide rail has a rust proof, shaped metal section (12) mounted above a longitudinal sleeper (13) or a road (14). It is supported by anchor rods, tie rods or connectors (16, 17, 26) which ensure the sole of the rail (1) is attached to the bottom of the shaped section (12), passing through an insulating mat (15) so that the upper edge of the rail (1) is at the same level as the top of the road surface (37) as is the upper edge of the shaped section (12) from which it is electrically insulated. The rail is held in position by sleeper clips (18, 19) which are made of insulating material and which are held tight against the sloping sides of the rail sleeper by washers (21) and nuts (22) which ensure that elastic pressure is constantly exerted on the rail to ensure it is held tightly onto the sleeper which has grooves to provide insulation from vibrations. The nuts, washers and sleeper clips are buried in an insulating filler (33) within the shaped section (12).
