Bio-active coatings used for e.g. dental implants

A bioactive coating on a substrate such as a zirconia dental implant to be implanted in a bone is at least partially constituted by at least one biologically active material which favours osteointegration of the implant. The coating comprises a vitreous phase and is deposited by plasma projection. Pref. at least one of the biologically active materials causes natural crystallisation of another of the biologically active materials.
