Biological treatment of domestic sewage collected from septic tanks

Domestic sewage is treated biologically in an installation including a septic tank (1) and a high yield lagoon (2). Most of the solid material is eliminated in the septic tank by decantation and digestion. The lagoon is arranged in parallel with the septic tank and receives supernatant from it. Solid material in suspension is decanted in the lagoon and returned to the septic tank.
