Laser optical device for 3D retrospective patient image registration and surface marking

The device includes an NMR appts (1) which generates a 3D image of a patient (2) and a memory unit (3) which stores this image prior to being processed by a computer (4). Parts of the patients body, e.g. the head, can be visualised on a display (5). A control and data bus links all the device components to the NMR appts. An optical system (6) collects an image of the skin surface. The system includes a number of low power lasers (9) which generate beams (D) illuminating the patients skin. A number of cameras (10) collect the image of the impact spot (11) for each beam. The laser beams can be redirected using a motor (12).
