Orientation control system for tank mounted gun

The device for monitoring the orientation of a gun (6) mounted on a tank has a sights (1) associated with a gyroscope (3), a handle (7) and a mechanism (5) for controlling the orientation w.r.t the vehicle. The control mechanism includes inertial sensors (12a) linked to the gun (6). The system also includes a processing unit (13) which calculates a reference orientation for the gun and controls the orientation of the sights and the gyroscope. This ensures that the orientation of sights and gyroscope then coincides with the reference value calculated for the gun.
