Horse-drawn vehicle with variable-geometry cornering mechanism

The vehicle chassis (1) has front (2) and rear (3) axles, the front axle being mounted for rotation relative to the chassis about a vertical pivot axis (4). A longitudinal rod (5) is articulated (6) to a crank plate (9) attached to the central point of the front axle, and attached at its other end to a linkage associated with the rear axle. The rear axle is formed by a pair of independent half-axles (3a,b) each mounted for pivoting about a horizontal axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the chassis. The linkage between the rod and rear axle is such that, as the front axle turns relative to the chassis, the rear half-axles pivot to incline the rear wheels at a slight angle to the vertical.
