Radiotherapy appts. for three dimensional imaging and treatment

The radiotherapy appts. includes a first support (4) for a patient (3), and a second support (6) turning about the first. An x-ray source (8) is mounted on the second support and provides a three-dimensional diverging beam of x-rays. The beam passes through a adjustable two dimensional aperture (10) providing collimation of the beam. The collimator is able to spatially modulate the beam before it reaches the patient and panels (24,34) for three-dimensional imaging and monitoring of patient. The beam provided by the x-ray source is in the form of a cone whose axis (Y) is perpendicular to the axis (X) of rotation of the second support.
