摘要
An outdoor garment is sufficiently large to embrace the whole body of the wearer and includes an extensible opening 1, Fig 1, for the face. To facilitate donning and removal of the garment, especially during adverse weather conditions, the garment includes an attached strap or cord unit 7 which can be used to temporarily retain the front of the garment in a gathered, reduced-length condition as shown in Fig 3. A cord may be located around the wearer's waist (Fig 5) but is placed in a pocket (2) when not required. The bottom of the garment may be gathered around the wearer's feet by a draw cord 5. The garment may be placed in a stuff bag (3, Fig 7) together with, eg, a closed cell foam seat pad, whereby the combined package is buoyant. Such package may be located within a storage bag (1) containing a throwing line to form rescue equipment or, altematively, the throwing line may be located in a pocket (3, Fig 9) externally of the bag. A rope and locking cord device (6, Figs 7 and 8) is attached to the bag. An alternative storage bag (Fig 10) and an alternative stuff bag (11a) with special pockets for special buoyant members (Fig 11b), are described. Fig 12 shows a closed cell foam pad which may form the buoyant member in the stuff bag but which has strategically placed perforations 1 and slits 6, 7 so that the pad may be torn or cut into shaped splints for first aid purposes.
