A trailer 1 comprises a chassis section 2 and a wheeled bogie section 3 which is slidably connected to the chassis section 2 and relatively movable between forwards and rearwards positions. The bogie section 3 has a striker pin 9 and the chassis section 2 has two fifth wheel clasp mechanisms 10,11 which automatically receive and retain the striker pin 9 to lock the sections 2,3 in place when the sections are moved fore and aft. The clasp mechanisms 10,11 may each be manually or pneumatically unlocked to allow the sections to be moved to another of the positions. One embodiment allows for the clasp supports 100 to be adjusted fore and aft by a pneumatically moved pin in hole arrangement 106.
