DETECTION OF CLOGGING OF PIPING IN PULVERIZED COAL BLOWING EQUIPMENT OF BLAST FURNACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and surely detect blocking of the piping due to the clogging of pulverized coal by fitting an acoustic sensor to a curved part of the piping for blowing the pulverized coal in a blast furnace and detecting the sound caused by the pulverized coal allowed to collide against the curved part. ;SOLUTION: The pulverized coal having grains of ≤200 mesh grain diameter amounting to ≥80% thereof and dried so as to be at 1-2% moisture, is blown from plural tuyeres of the blast furnace. In a straight pipe part 1a of the piping 1 for blowing the pulverized coal, the curved part 1b composed of a curved pipe bent by radii R₁ and R₀ is successively formed and the pulverized coal flows in the curved part 1b in a direction A from the straight pipe part 1a. In this case, the acoustic sensor 10 is fitted on an upstream side of the pulverized coal flow A from a curve center point P at the outside of the curved part 1b and sound generated by the pulverized coal allowed to collide against the inner wall of the curved part is detected in the frequency zone of 100-200kHz. In the case the pulverized coal clogs the piping 1, flow speed of the pulverized coal in the piping is slow, and therefore, the output of the acoustic sensor 10 is reduced, and it can easily and accurately be detected that the pulverized coal clogs the piping 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
