PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a ring packing to seal the flange connection of a pipe, by flanging plural prescribed outer and/or the inner edge areas at a specific angle, and then fastening tightly the outer and/or the inner edge areas with flange. ;SOLUTION: A ring packing 1 is produced by a process using a material for sealing allowable to fasten tightly, particularly, a polytetrafluoroethylene extended and swelled in multiple directions. This material for sealing exists in the form of punched hole opening disk at first, its prescribed outer edge area is flanged to a collar 3 for centering, and fastened tightly, while the flanging runs in the direction vertical primarily to the surface of the ring 2 of a ring packing 1. In the central area of the ring 2 of the ring packing 1, an opening 4 is punched, and its diameter is made coinsident to the inner diameter of a flange connection assembled to the ring packing 1 finally.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
