METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING WATER QUALITY USING AQUATIC LIFE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously monitor the mixture of a toxic material while fostering an aquatic life in a natural state so that the evasion action of the aquatic life can be judged without being affected, by the turbidity of inspection water and the contamination of a water tank, etc. SOLUTION: A plurality of water tanks 1 for housing an aquatic life are aligned in a line, a path 3 for enabling the aquatic life to freely move is provided between adjacent tanks 1, sensor electrodes 4 and 5 for detecting the active potential of the aquatic life are installed at each water tank 1, and an inspection water 10 for monitoring toxicity is allowed to flow from one edge of the water tanks 1 which are aligned in a line so that it flows to the other edge. Further, an automatic food supplying device 13 is installed at the water tanks 1 at the flow-in side of the inspection water 1 and food is supplied in the water tank 1 at the flow-in side, thus allowing the aquatic life to exist mainly at the water tanks 1 at the flow-in side normally and detecting the action of the aquatic life for moving to the water tanks 1 of a later stage when a toxic substance flows in by detecting the active potential of the aquatic life by the sensor electrodes 4 and 5 of each water tank.
