PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the times of multiplying, to shorten a time for calculation and to reduce the size of a whole circuit as a circuit is realized through the use of the algorithm of Lie by constituting a system by means of an initial arithmetic means and a main arithmetic means which are respectively specified. ;SOLUTION: A discrete cosine transformed-signal is inputted to the initial arithmetic part and outputted after executing the initial addition operation of reverse discrete cosine transformation through the use of the algorithm of Lie. Then, the output signal is inputted to the main arithmetic part 200 and outputted after executing the multiplicating operation of reverse discrete cosine transformation and a butterfly operation through the use of the algorithm of Lie. The signal outputted from the initial arithmeric part is inputted to the coefficient multiplying part 50 of the main arithmetic part 200 so as to select the applying signal, to multiply the coefficient applying to the signal and to output it. The output signal and the signal outputted from the initial arithmetic part are inputted to a butterfly arithmetic part 60 and the two signals are outputted after executing the butterfly operation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
