PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve strength and abrasion resistance and maintain water permeability for a long time of period for a landscape brick by making the sectional area of a through hole slit in the lower surface of a brick in contact with the surface of the earth 1.5 times or more greater than that of the brick at the surface of pavement. ;SOLUTION: In a landscape brick 1 provided in a street or a park, cross- shaped through hole slits 3 for imparting water permeability to the brick located within a distance of 10mm from the upper surface of the brick are formed into straight shape and other slits located below the straight slits are formed into tapered shape to form a brick of high density 2. And the sectional area of the slit 3 in the underside of the brick in contact with the surface of the earth is made 1.5 times or more greater than that of the brick at the surface of pavement. As a result, rainwater is absorbed into the ground in a short time through the slits 3 and clogging of the slits 3 can be avoided and hence fine appearance of the brick is not injured and rainwater is allowed to naturally flow into the ground in a short time so that a landscape suitable for natural environment can be provided, strength and abrasion resistance can be improved, and water permeability can be maintained for a long time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
