PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the energy absorbing performance against an earthquake by concurrently using a high-strength reinforcing bar and an extremely low yield point steel reinforcing bar for a beam main reinforcement, providing a joint inducing fluxural cracks, and applying a waterproof process. ;SOLUTION: A high-strength beam main reinforcement 1 and an extremely low yield point steel beam main reinforcement 2 are concurrently used for a beam main reinforcement to form a reinforced concrete beam P. A crack- inducing joint 5 is formed on the reinforced concrete beam P, and a waterproof process is applied by a waterproof layer 6. This reinforced concrete beam P can be designed to have the same bending yield strength as that of the reinforced concrete beam using the reinforcing bars having the conventional strength. The extremely low yield point steel reinforcing bars have a low yield point and abound in deformation performance, and they can exert an energy absorbing capability with a relatively small deformation at the time of an earthquake. The crack-inducing joint 5 generates fluxural cracks at the prescribed position of the beam P, and it prevents flexural cracks from being generated at other positions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
