PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a molding-failed site which is generated by the slippage of the curved glass plate heated at a temperature near to the melting point, when the molded plate is transferred onto a molded product-supporting frame, and to provide a device for detecting the same. ;SOLUTION: This method for molding the curved glass plate comprises carrying a glass plate 1 into a curving molding oven, sucking the carried glass plate with a suction mold placed at the upper part of the curving molding oven and having on the lower surface a cured surface for sucking the softened glass plate 1 with suction holes connected to a vacuum source to mold the softened glass plate into a desired shape, dropping the curved glass plate on a molding ring 6 shaped along the shape of the curved surface, and reciprocatively moving the cold ring 4 supporting and fixing the molding ring 6 thereto between the place under the suction mold and a cooling device and a next carrying conveyer. Therein, vertically position-controllable projections disposed at positions near to the outside of the outer periphery of the curved glass plate supported on the molding ring 6 for supporting the periphery of the glass plate 1 along its curved shape on a cold frame 4 capable of being reciprocatively moved between the place below the suction mold and the cooling device 10 and the next conveyer are disposed on the mold ring 6, thus enabling to expand the deformation of the molding-failed site to facilitate the judgment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
