PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect failure of a current detecting means in an induction motor controller properly, and ensure required and sufficient performance as an induction motor in case of failure occurrence. SOLUTION: The detected results of a current detecting means 8 are inputted into both of a micro-processor 2 and a current control circuit 7 to detect some failure with the micro-processor 2. In case of failure occurrence, the current control circuit 7 is separated by a switching means 12, and energizing is conducted by a semiconductor driving auxiliary signal 22 from the micro- processor 2 for the failure diagnosis of the current detecting means 8. After completion of the failure diagnosis, current control is made directly by the micro-processor 2 to drive a motor 5.
