PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for carrying out pozzolanic reaction, capable of carrying out under relaxed pH conditions and soil improving method utilizing the pozzolanic reaction, capable of reducing problem of secondary pollution caused by contact water (rain water) which became strongly alkaline by contact with soil. ;SOLUTION: (1) This method for carrying out pozzolanic reaction comprises adding an acidic salt as pH adjuster to the reaction system in carrying out pozzolanic reaction by curing and solidifying a raw material substance containing Si component, Al component and Ca component. (2) This method for improving soil comprises adding an acidic salt as a pH adjuster to a reaction system in soil improving method carrying out pozolanic reaction by adding and mixing a watercontaining soil with a water-soluble high-molecular substance, adding a lime component as a component adjusting agent to the resultant granulated material and curing and solidifying the mixture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
