PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method of guaranteeing privacy in an image medium automatic processing station. SOLUTION: An image medium automatic processing station 10 is provided with an image medium processing device 12 to process an image medium of a customer according to processing order and a video display 14 by which the customer can look at an image at processing time. The station 10 is provided with a customer interface part 16 which interfaces the customer with the device 12 and communicates with the processing device 12 and a customer sensor 18 which is connected to at least one of the customer interface part 16 and the processing device 12 and senses the existence of the customer in a range of a visual field. The existence of such a customer makes an image recorded on the image medium of the customer display on the display 14, and when the existence of the customer is not sensed, display of the image more than that is interrupted.
