TOKEN SYSTEM BUS TYPE LAN AND METHOD FOR CONSTITUTING LOGICAL RING THEREFOR

PURPOSE: To speed up the reconstitution process of a logical ring and to shorten communication interruption time in a token system bus type LAN. ;CONSTITUTION: Each transmission controller 10 of the control station and the normal station of a bus type LAN has a two-pair type logical ring constitution means 130 determining a next station passing a token. In the constitution of the logical ring, an invitation frame including an invitation address n is transmitted from the constitution means 130 of the control station and the response is monitored. When the invitation address n of the invitation frame is the present station address/the present station +1, the constitution means 130 of each normal station returns a response frame defining the present station address as a transmission origin. When the control station receives not only the response frame from a station but also the response frames from two stations, the control station subscribes and sets the normal station of the transmission origin address in a logical ring control table 132. When a collision is detected during the monitoring, the normal station of invitation addresses n and n-1 is subscribed and set.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
