PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for arbitration for a bus enabling a divided transaction bus protocol. ;SOLUTION: When a slave is not ready for completing a transaction, a master signal for setting a mask bit in a master register is asserted. While the mask bit is set in the master register, a requesting master is forcedly separated from a bus, and re-arbitration is interrupted. When the slave is ready for completing the transaction, a master release signal is asserted, and the mask bit in the shift register is reset. Next, arbitration for the usage of the bus is permitted to the requesting master for completing the transaction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
