PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the nonagglomerating properties, flowability, distinctness, gloss, etc., of an aq. pigment dispersion by using a water-sol. or -dispersible linear urethane polymer having anthraquinone compd. residues and/or acridone compd. residues. ;SOLUTION: For example, a dihydroxy compd. component contg., as the essential component, a compd. having at least two isocyanate-reactive groups and at least one hydrophilic group (e.g. COOH or SO₃H) is reacted with a diisocyanate compd. and then with a diamine compd. to give a water-sol. or- dispersible linear urethane polymer having terminal amino groups. The polymer is reacted with an anthraquinone compd. and/or an acridone compd. having at least one reactive group selected from among COCl, SO₂Cl, CH₂Cl, and CH₂ NHCOCH₂Cl to give a pigment dispersant. The pigment compsn. is obtd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. pigment with 0.5-100 pts.wt. the dispersant. The pigment dispersion is obtd. by adding the compsn. to e.g. an aq. resin or an aq. medium.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
