VIBRATION CONTROL DEVICE AND VIBRATION CONTROL STRUCTURE OF EXISTING BUILDING BY USE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably increase the vibration control capacity of a building, by interposing a vibration control member attenuating the horizontal vibration between a frame base provided with a plane parallelly facing the underface of a building floor and the underface of the floor. ;SOLUTION: A vibration control device 30 installed on a specified floor F of an existing building 20, is constituted of a frame base 31 installed to parallelly face the underface of the floor 24 of the right above floor F' of a specified floor F, and a vibration control member 32 interposed between the frame base 31 and the floor 24. The vibration control member 32 is constituted of a steel plate 37 fixed on a frame 34, a steel plate 38 fixed at the underface of the floor 24 of the right above floor F', a viscoelastic material 39 interposed between the steel plates 37, 38. When a horizontal external force acts on the building 20 in an earthquake or the like, the steel plate 37 is integrally deplaced with the floor 24 of the specified floor F and also the steel plate 38 is integrally deplaced with the floor 24 of the right above floor F' and the relative displacement of the steel plates 37, 38 is attenuated by the viscoelastic material 39. In this way, the relative displacement of the specified floor F and the right above floor F' is attenuated and hence, the vibration of the whole body of the building 20 is controlled.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
