PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a postchlorinated vinyl chloride resin excellent in gelling performances and heat resistance by postchlorinating a vinyl chloride polymer obtained by adding a plurality of specified compounds in (co)polymerizing a vinyl chloride monomer under specified conditions. ;SOLUTION: A vinyl chloride polymer obtained by adding desirably 150-2,000ppm, based on the vinyl chloride monomer (the same shall apply hereinbelow), of a partially saponified PVAc of an average degree of saponification of 60-90mol%, desirably 150-2,000ppm cellulose derivative (e.g. methylcellulose), desirably 150-10,000ppm sorbitan fatty acide ester (e.g. sorbitan monolaurate) of an HLB of 3-10 and desirably 300-20,000ppm 8-25C fatty acid (e.g. stearic acid) to the reaction system in suspension-polymerizing a vinyl chloride monomer or a mixture thereof with monomers copolymerizable therewith in the presence of an oil-soluble polymerization initiator in an aqueous medium is postchlorinated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
