OPTICAL DEVICE FOR BINOCULAR IMAGE PICKUP AND BINOCULAR IMAGE PICKUP APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To reduce the size, weight and cost of an apparatus for image pickup of both eyes and to make the long-term image pickup possible. CONSTITUTION: Both ends of a cavity 3 disposed in a housing 1 are formed as apertures 2a, 2b communicating with the outside. The wall in the housing 1 facing the aperture 2a is provided with a hole part and a video camera 4 is fitted into this hole part. The cavity 3 is internally provided with a half mirror 5, a mirror 6, an optical lens 7 and light sources 8a, 8b. This apparatus is mounted at a testee and these light sources 8a, 8b are alternately flickered. The light reflected by either of the eyes transmits the half mirror 5 and arrives at the photodetecting surface of a video camera 4 and the light reflected by another eye is reflected by the mirror 6 and the half mirror and arrives at the photodetecting surface of the video camera 4. The optical lens 7 corrects the error by a difference between the two optical path lengths.
