PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unnecessary power supply and to restrain the consumption of a battery by discriminating whether electronic parts are attached to an image pickup device from an abutting state between a contact pin and a contact fitting. ;SOLUTION: A discriminating contact pin 24 is provided in a camera body and pressed to the contact metal fittings 8f by a contact spring 25 similarly to the discriminating contact pin 21f so as to form an electric connection state. When the pin 24 is connected with the pin 21f through the fitting 8f, that is, in the case the pin 24 is connected to a ground line, the camera body recognizes that the attached screen has a display member 3. Namely, the fittings 8f are common to a segment on the display member 3 and also functions as the ground line of the pin 24. Therefore, whether the screen is attached is discriminated on a camera side without providing a new member on the screen side.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
